Walk Thursday, 13th June 2013 (Easy) Depart 10.00 from Restaurante El Mirador, La Romana.

Brian Grass will lead the penultimate walk of the season starting from El Mirador near La Romana. For those who have not been there before, El Mirador is on an urbanisation just off the CV-834 roundabout on the La Romaneta/Monovar end of the village.
This is an easy walk which should take about 3 hours depending on the temperature at the time. There are a few small climbs to get the heart rate going. Any of the group should be able to do it comfortably. So, if you haven’t walked with us for a while; why not give it a go!?
Starting time – 10am
Distance – 10km
Height Gain – 100metres. The steepest ascentis 100m in 500metres and then there are other smaller climbs of 50metres or so.
The walk – All on unmade track except a short stretch through the village of La Romaneta.  On the outward leg we pass behind La Romaneta and on to the first and main rise on a track between a small mountain, simply named “Sierra” on the left and “La Zafra” on the right.  Heading down and across the main road for a ramble through country dwellings and terraces, onward towards the embalsa de La Romana and down through the village of La Romaneta and back to the Mirador.
Lunch – Lunch will be available for those that would like to take it at El Mirador, if you would like to take lunch please book with Brian by no later than Sunday 9th June. Brian will then coordinate the bookings and provide a menu from which you may select your lunch.
