More Walks (Oct & Nov) + Abrepaso

Encebras and Monte Coto#403 SALT RIVER WALK:
The next walk is on Tuesday 20th October when I will lead a group on the Salt River Walk. This is a regular favourite, so do come along if you can! Because the RV isn’t too easy to find the first time I will lead a convoy from HDLF for anyone who is unsure. Details in the attached notice.

The following walk will be on Friday, 6th November and will be led by Paul and Chris Wilson, it starts in the village of Encebras which is near Pinoso. Details for this walk are also attached. If you have any queries about this walk please contact them rather than me!

#405 (Details to come)
The second walk in November will be led by Alan Smith, it will be in the second half of the month and I will post the details as soon as I have them.

There is a third opportunity to walk in November as ABREPASO, a Spanish Fitness organisation, is running the 3rd Hondón de los Frailes Marcha on Sunday 15th November at 9.00am. For the last two years the walk has been 10K, but this year they are offering 6K and10K options. There will be one water station on the 6K walk and two on the 10K walk. If you wish to take part you will need to register and get a number, even though this is not a competitive event. Registration will take place in Hondón de los Frailes on 18th October in the area near the Town Hall and Bar 28 between 10.00 and 14.00 and will require you to present ID and pay 5€.

You may also register AT SPORT ZONE in L’ALJUB shopping centre in ELCHE during opening hours. You can also register online or on the ABREPASO Facebook page for these ways you will need to make a payment into the ABREPASO bank account, details attached. Finally, you can register on the day, but at 10€. I look forward to seeing some of you on this walk as I will probably need some moral support!

There is one other small cost, when collecting your number, between 10.00 and 13.00 on 14th November in Hondón de los Frailes or on the morning of the walk between 8.00 and 8.50, you are asked to donate one non perishable food item, which ABREPASO will donate to the food bank. (Something typically Spanish is suggested as the end recipients are almost always Spanish.)
